Modern Slavery Statement — Sofa Collection
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the commitment of Sofa Collection and its associated brands to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. Our sofa collection and broader sofa collections portfolio are built on respect for human rights. We operate a zero-tolerance policy for all forms of forced labour, bonded labour, child labour and human trafficking and we require every partner in our supply chain to adhere to the same strict standards.
We commit to embedding responsible sourcing throughout the lifecycle of our products. Our procurement teams and sourcing partners apply a risk-based due diligence process to identify, assess and address potential instances of modern slavery. The SofaCollection policy framework includes supplier codes of conduct, contractual clauses and training programmes for employees, factory managers and logistics partners to ensure that policies are understood and implemented.
Our approach emphasises prevention, detection and remediation. We deploy targeted supplier audits and announced and unannounced site assessments across tiers of supply, focusing on regions and components with higher vulnerability to exploitation. Audits evaluate working hours, wages, recruitment practices, freedom of movement and grievance mechanisms. If risks or non-compliances are identified, we require corrective action plans and continuous monitoring until verified remediation is completed.
Supplier Assurance, Audits and Expectations
We require all suppliers to sign and comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct. Compliance is verified through a combination of approaches including document reviews, on-site audits, worker interviews and third-party verification. Our supplier assurance is supported by:
- Periodic audits prioritised by risk;
- Capacity building and training for supplier management and frontline supervisors;
- Contractual obligations that include rights to audit and requirements for remediation.
We use a graduated response to findings: from technical support and training where issues are systemic, to suspension or termination of relationships where suppliers fail to implement corrective measures. Our audit methodology is continuously refined and informed by worker voice data, partnerships with independent verifiers and benchmarking against international standards.
We recognise that strong supplier relationships and transparency enable meaningful change. Our sourcing teams work collaboratively with suppliers to map labour risks at the component and regional level and to pilot solutions that reduce incentives for exploitative practices, such as improving recruitment transparency and protecting the rights of migrant workers.
Reporting Channels, Remediation and Annual Review
We maintain multiple reporting channels to enable safe, confidential and, where requested, anonymous reporting of suspected modern slavery or labour abuses. These channels include internal whistleblowing systems, third-party hotlines and worker-accessible grievance mechanisms embedded at supplier sites. Reports are triaged, investigated and escalated to senior governance where required, and we protect whistleblowers from retaliation.
Remediation for victims of modern slavery is a priority. When exploitation is identified, we seek to secure the safety, restitution and long-term wellbeing of affected workers in line with international best practice. Remedial actions include repayment of unlawful deductions, legal support referrals, access to medical care, and, where needed, support for safe repatriation. We document outcomes and lessons learned to strengthen prevention.
Our Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by senior management and the Board to ensure its continued relevance and effectiveness. A formal annual review evaluates audit outcomes, remediation cases, risk assessments, training completion rates and progress against key performance indicators. Findings inform updated policies, resources for supplier engagement and strategic priorities for the following year.
We will continue to refine our policies and scale up responsible sourcing practices across all elements of the sofa collection business. Through sustained supplier engagement, robust audit protocols, clear reporting channels and a demonstrated zero-tolerance policy, Sofa Collection aims to drive continuous improvement and to ensure that our products are made with respect for human dignity and labour rights.
